High Forest Farms is located just off the Meriwether Lewis exit of the Natchez Trace Parkway in Hohenwald, Tennessee. Enjoy nearby trails, waterfalls, canoeing, horseback riding, wineries and historic landmarks, or explore downtown Hohenwald, which offers a variety of shops and restaurants.

Jackson Falls
.75 mile one-way trail to Baker Bluff and 900' one-way paved, steep trail to the falls.

SIGNIFICANCE:
Waterfall
Jackson Falls is one of the Trace's most popular sites, with a large parking area, restrooms, picnic area, and hiking trails. In the parking lot next to the restrooms and picnic area, you can hike north 1/4 mile to a viewpoint 300 feet above the Duck River, and another 1/2 mile to Baker Bluff Overlook.

Metal Ford

SIGNIFICANCE:
Historic Site and Old Trace
The old Natchez Trace passed through Metal Ford at milepost 382.8, where travelers could cross the Buffalo River except in heavy rains. The ford gets its name from its stone bottom, which reminded these early travelers of their stone-surfaced or "metalized" roads back home.
The location also offers a short, 5 to 10 minute trail that takes you to Steele's Iron Works, where primitive pig iron was produced in 1820, to be found in the old millrace.

The Elephant Discover Center seeks to raise public awareness about elephant conservation and improve elephants' lives by protecting them from constant threats such as poaching, habitat loss, conflict, and capture. You can see live video feeds from the sanctuary habitats and explore the many ways elephants shape the world through hands-on exhibits and educational programming.
Hours open to the public:
Tuesday thru Saturday: 9 am - 4 pm
Sunday and Monday: closed
Admission is Free*All elephants reside within The Sanctuary’s 2,700 acres of habitat nearby, retired from public view. There are no elephants at the Discovery Center or Outdoor Classroom.

Amber Falls Winery

Amber Falls Winery is owned and operated by Tim and Judy who bought the Lewis County property in 2003 with the intention of building and opening a Christian retreat center. In the end, the retreat center didn't materialize, but a beautiful vineyard and winery did. 2005 was the year when the first vines were planted, Chardonnay and Seyval Blanc. As the vineyard expanded over the next three years, several thousand more vines were planted.
In March 2008, the winery's tasting room opened, and since then, Amber Falls Winery & Cellars has drawn visitors from all over and is a favorite with wine lovers and travelers alike.

Keg Springs Winery

Brian is one of the co-founders of Keg Springs Winery and an international award-winning wine maker. His achievements include over 100 medals, as well as being named Tennessee's winemaker of the year in 2011.
Keg Springs' growth has been fueled by his leadership and winemaking skills since 2003.
They offer complimentary tastings of a variety of wines, ranging from dry reds to sweet fruits.
