We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our farm family. The ideal candidate will have background in farming or gardening and be capable of performing general labor tasks and working in the field. Candidates should also have a knowledge of growing plants (vegetables, herbs and flowers) and a passion for organic farming. We start all our plants from seeds, so a knowledge of growing from seeds is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Growing produce and flowers
• Watering, weeding, preparing beds for planting, transporting, harvesting, starting plants from seeds.
• Potentially giving tours to girl scouts, homeschool and 4-H groups to teach them about organic farming.
• Talking to public and educating them during "pick your own" events.

Looking for someone to start in the Spring, around April. Flexible schedule. 20-30 hours a week. You would be working with a team of people so you can coordinate schedules to make sure that plants are watered, plants are getting in the ground in a timely manner, and plants are being harvested.

By Faith Farm is seeking a passionate, full-time farmer with a desire to serve others to join our non-profit mission!

By Faith Farm’s food project is a 501c3 non-profit partnering with Second Harvest of Middle Tennessee to produce and distribute nutrient-dense food, grown chemical-free, to the needy. Across our 97-acres, the farm also has several agritourism operations including a farm-stay apartment, event space in a beautiful barn, and a “You-Pick” flower garden. All of which all help to sustain the mission of increasing access to fresh produce to those in need in Middle Tennessee.

Our farm worker will:

• Prepare land, plant, and harvest 2-acres of fruits & vegetables for donation using regenerative farming practices.
• Help with farm maintenance, equipment maintenance, and other property management tasks.
• Plant ½ acre “You-Pick Flower” garden (training available with flower consultant).
• Direct and work with volunteers to complete projects with help of volunteer coordinator.
• Communicate issues that require attention to the farm owner and BOD.
• Help with land fertility programs (compost tea and biodynamic prep applications, annual manure compost application, cover crop rotations).
• Assist in long-term beautification projects around agritourism sites on the farm.
